The internet is a really useful tool to find sites that you can do a variety
things. These include chat and many sites that have interactive features.
Now basic web hosting would be the kind where you can host html web pages and
files. You mainly would be using this to announce your presence to the internet
world. Think of this as a store in a shopping center.
However, if you would like to have a site that performs useful functions I
recommend that you choose a platform that can process applications. I would
recommend the PHP scripting platform mainly because it is very powerful and
popular. This consequently means that you can find many open source scripts to
do most things that you want.
I would like to give a very good example of this. When I first started out
making money on the internet I chose a PHP/Unix/MYSQL Database platform to host
an open source classified script that I found. My cost for hosting this site is
a few dollars a month. The main functionality of this site is to let people
place classified adverts for free and search them.
At this stage when I created this site I was not very good at copywriting or
list building. Using only free search engine traffic I have made about $80,000
just from Adsense.
Finally, if you find a good Php/Unix/MYSQL host you will easily be able to
find a good open source script for an idea that you have and launch your first
internet business.
